He has volunteered in India on multiple
occasions as well as the Khao I Dang Refugee
Camp in Thailand.
Background:
In Hawaii, he was the medical director of brain
injury and chronic pain programs.
He is past president of the Florida Society of
Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and a
member of both the Florida Association of
Occupational and Environmental Medicine and the
Florida Academy of Pain Medicine.
His special interests are in impairment and
disability evaluation, occupational
neuromusculoskeletal medicine, electrodiagnostic
medicine, and brain injuries.
He has spoken extensively and
internationally on these topics and has taught
the 5 hour physician certification course for
Florida workers' compensation providers.
He is on the staff at the University of Florida,
Shands Hospital, Department of Orthopedics as
well as six other hospitals in Gainesville and
Ocala, Florida. He performs rounds treating and
oversees care for catastrophic brain and spinal
cord injuries at inpatient facilities.
His forensic experience has included expert
testimony in several thousand workers
compensation, personal injury cases and medical
malpractice claims.
He also performs utilization review for
Medicaid and is an Expert Medical Advisor for
the State of Florida.
His practice involves diagnosing and treating
various injuries and overseeing long term
medical needs as well as rending opinions on
future medical needs and life care plans.
