Curriculum Vitae
Dr. Edward P. Berla is a Vocational Economic
Analyst with Vocational Economics, Inc. He
received his Ph.D. in Psychology from the
University of Cincinnati and has since
completed post-doctoral study in economics at
the University of Louisville and Purdue
University. In addition to serving with
Vocational Economics, Inc., Dr. Berla served
as a tenured full professor at the University
of Louisville where he prepared graduate
students to work with persons with disability.
Dr. Berla has worked for
twenty-five years within the field of
disability as a researcher, psychologist,
university professor, and vocational expert
with the U.S. Department of Health and Human
Services. He has authored and
co-authored numerous publications involving
disability and is recognized internationally
for his research in the area of visual
impairment. He has worked with a wide
range of persons with physical and
psychological disabilities.
Dr. Berla has qualified as
a Vocational Economic Analyst on numerous
cases and has worked with both plaintiff and
defense attorneys. He has analyzed
hundreds of cases involving varying degrees of
partial disability and the effect of such
disability on loss of earning capacity.
